Capt. Jack W. Crawford papers [manuscript], 1883-1911, undated.

The collection contains a copy of "To Headley J. Fry," original of which is tipped in "Whar' the hand o' God is seen." In his correspondence Wallace discusses not being invited to participate in [The Santa Fe Tertio-Millenial Anniversary, Character Celebration and Industrial Exposition], his contributions to the settling of the country, his arrangement for a dramatic author to write a frontier drama, and his desire for an invitation to take part in the celebration. Other topics include a desire to submit sketches of frontier life, work as a special agent for the Department of Justice, willingness to write a verse and autograph a book for any boy who asks, although he cannot afford sending as present, and requests for notices. Recipients include Charles W. Greene, and the editor of the American Press Association. The collection also contains four photographs of Captain Jack in frontier dress, two of which are inscribed; and a flier advertising a 1912 performance.
